Officially launching in July 2020, I was invited to try three flavors Mezcla offers.
All bars are: VEGAN / GLUTEN FREE / NON-GMO / SOY FREE / DAIRY FREE
Here are my thoughts:
Peruvian Cocoa Peanut Butter: Peanut Butter is normally my least favorite flavor, so I tried this bar first. I was a little nervous it would be too peanut buttery, but was pleasantly surprised that the chocolate flavors blended so well with the rest making the peanut butter flavors really enjoyable. There's chocolate drizzle along the top of the bar and chocolate coating the bottom. Every bite is deliciously crunchy and I had to stop myself from eating the whole bar before trying the others.
Mexican Chipotle Hot Chocolate: Before trying this bar I read it was a little spicy which caught my interest! There's chocolate drizzle on the top, and chocolate coating the bottom of this bar as well, but you can tell it's a lot more chocolatey than the Peruvian Cocoa Peanut Butter bar. Super crunchy and delicious, you start out tasting cocoa leading into the spicy flavors. When I read this bar was spicy, I didn't know what to expect. I imagined hot sauce + chocolate but after trying it, the spice was more of a cinnamon flavor which was so satisfying. Definitely a bar for people who love to explore unique flavors!
Japanese Matcha Vanilla Crunch: The name itself caught my attention and automatically became my favorite bar before trying it out! It lived up to my expectations taking me on a taste journey. Unlike the other two flavors, this bar doesn't have chocolate drizzle on top or chocolate coating on bottom, but instead vanilla coating on the bottom. At first bite I knew this was a bar I'd purchase as an on-the-go snack! The blend of matcha and vanilla flavors are so tasty, and combined perfectly with the texture and crunch of the bar.
